Amethyst anthias

This species is seen in coral reef areas of Okinawa. The males are more vivid in color than the females and
have a thread like soft ray on their pelvic fin and caudle fin. This genus of fish also has a yellow, and a red species. Because of their vivid colors, they are called juriguwa-iu (harlot fish) in the Okinawan dialect!
