Sickle seagrass / Sea grass

A species of seagrass in the tape-grasses family (Hydrocharitaceae) that grows in clusters in sandy areas. There are 5 to 6 species of seagrass in Okinawa, and this species is the most common. In general, places where seagrass grow abundantly are called seagrass beds.  They are an important feeding ground for dugongs and sea turtles, and as a habitat for juvenile fish.
