Giant squid
This species is one of the world’s largest squid and is found in the deep sea. In August 1994, the specimen displayed at the Churaumi Aquarium was caught alive in a lure by diamondback squid fishermen at a depth of 500 meters off the coast of Uruma City, Okinawa. It is an unusual and rare species, and they are rarely seen alive.
