Deep-sea giant isopod

It is a large species of isopod, an order that also includes the sea roach (Ligia exotica) and the woodlouse. It feeds on carcasses that fall to the sea floor and is considered a cleaner. In Okinawa, they are caught and collected through basket fishing from depths below 500 meters.
