Japanese chromis

This species of damselfish belongs to the Pomacentridae family and unusually inhabits deep-sea rocky shores. In Okinawa, it is found at depths below 150 meters. It reaches 10 cm in length, and has a cream color body with a distinctive horizontal yellow stripe along its side. Juveniles do not have this horizontal band.
