Deep-sea dwelling sea star
A member of a very rare genera of deep-sea starfish. In Okinawa, they are found at depths of around 200 meters. It often clings to horny corals and black corals (Antipathes). It mainly feeds on plankton that drifts by. It is distinguished by its sharp spines that are covered by a thin film.
