Indo-Pacific bottlenose dolphin

Compared to the bottlenose dolphin, the Indo-Pacific bottlenose dolphin has a long slender snout, and black spots on its stomach. This is the only facility in Japan to rear this species. The name of this theater comes from one of our Indo-Pacific bottlenose dolphins, Oki-chan. Oki-chan holds the longest rearing record in Japan. Oki-chan’s daughter Sami was Japan’s first case of captive breeding.
