Hairtail blenny
※Off display.
The hairtail blenny is found in sandy and muddy areas at depths from 30 to 50 meters in inner bays and shallow seas. It resembles an eel, but is a species of combtooth blenny. It is known to burrow in the sand, but this behavior has not been observed in captivity. It has sharp fang-like teeth. The individual in the aquarium was collected from an underwater fishing lamp.
