Marmaid’s wine glass

A species endemic to Japan and found from the Amami Islands to the Yaeyama Islands. It is a green seaweed shaped like a wineglass, and is found clustered in calm shallow waters throughout winter and spring. It is a rare seaweed that is listed as a near-threatened species on the IUCN Red List.
