Robust tuskfish
The robust tuskfish is a species of wrasse that is widely distributed from the West Indian Sea to the Pacific Ocean. In Okinawa, it inhabits the rocky reefs at depths around 100 meters. It is identified by the diagonal separation of two patterns on its body. Its strong teeth stick out forward and it preys on creatures such as crustaceans, shellfish, and sea urchins.
