Red-banded lobster
- Rareness:★★★★★

The red-banded lobster is popular for food. The red and white stripes on its claws are vivid. A deep-seabed survey conducted with the ROV in March of 2020 confirmed that it inhabits depths around 350 meters. In July 2020, Okinawa Churaumi Aquarium succeeded in capturing and exhibiting a red-banded lobster for the first time. The lobster makes a tunnel-shaped burrow in the sediment and lives alone. It is a relatively small species of Metanephrops lobster.
