Goldflag jobfish
- World's First
- Rareness:★★★★★

The goldflag jobfish inhabits deep-sea seabeds at depths of around 200 meters in the Indo-Pacific (including the Ryukyu Islands, Mauritius Island, Southern Australia, Hawaii and New Caledonia). In Okinawa, it is called the irikinnmachi, and is a type of deep-sea snapper, but few are caught by fishermen. This species has a purplish body with gold speckles and a distinctive gold upper lobe to its tailfin. The translation of its Latin name auricilla means “moves in gold”.
