Fork-tailed threadfin bream

This species of Nemipterus threadfin bream inhabits sandy and muddy areas at depths from around 10 to 100 meters.  Eight species of Nemipterus threadfin bream have been found in Japanese waters. This species looks like the notchedfin threadfin bream, however it can be distinguished by the absence of a notch in the membrane between the dorsal fin spines.
