Yellow Finger coral / Hump-coral
Widely distributed in the subtropical and tropical areas of the Indo-Pacific. Often seen on the edge of reefs and reef slopes. It forms a large colony in reef ponds and shallow waters that can exceed a diameter of 1 meter. In shallower waters an intertidal micro-atoll occurs when the top of the colony is frequently exposed to the air and dries. This leads to the formation of a distinctive flat surface to the colony.
