Whitemargin unicornfish

This fish is found across the Indo-Pacific on the outer edge of coral reefs. In Japan, from Suruga Bay southwards. The hornlike protrusion on the forehead of an adult is the longest amongst the surgeonfishes (Acanthuridae family). They are omnivorous. They are caught for food, however, when it loses its freshness it gives off a distinctive odor.
