Moontail bullseye / Crescent tail bigeye

Distributed in the Indo-Pacific, including southern Japan. Typically seen at depths of 30 to 40 m, from the shallower parts of the coral reef to the outer edge of the reef
Occasionally, they are caught at a depth of 250 meters. Its characteristics are its large eyes and vivid red body. Several species of bigeye family (Priacanthidae) have been identified in Japan as well as the moontail bullseye. The moontail bullseye has the center part of its tail fin curved inward like the shape of a new moon. In the aquarium, they often stay in the caves and come out during the night.
