Shoulderbar soldierfish
In Japan, distributed from Tosa Bay southwards. Identified by its large eyes and large scales that are similar in appearance to a pinecone. It looks similar to the blotcheye soldierfish (Myripristis berndti), however, the shoulderbar soldierfish has a clear black band from the end of its gill cover to the base of its pectoral fin.
