Tawny nurse shark
Distributed across the Indo-Pacific. A benthic shark that lives on the shallow sea floors of coral reefs. It reaches 3 meters in length. When hunting for prey it is able to powerfully suck in food. In the Okinawan dialect, it is called takokuwaya meaning octopus eater. Individuals without the second dorsal fin are frequently caught.
