Golden tank goby

This large goby reaches 30 cm in length. It is classified as a Critically Endangered (CR) species in Okinawa Prefecture’s red data book. It is also widely distributed overseas and a food source.  It is a fish-eating goby that inhabits the sandy and muddy floors of estuaries. Its population has drastically reduced due to riverbank protection and development in the estuaries.
