The Coral Sea
Antler coral
- Rareness:★★★★★
Widely distributed in the Indo-Pacific. They are found along slopes and at the edge of coral reefs. A colony’s branches form a shape similar to a moose’s antlers. Some can grow more than 1 meter in diameter. Various creatures live between these branches such as coral crabs of the genus Trapezia, coral snapper shrimp (Alpheus lottini) and gobies of the genus Paragobiodon. The blue-green damselfish / green chromis (Chromis viridis) and reticulate dascyllus (Dascyllus reticulatus) will also use this coral as shelter.
