Blacktip grouper

Distributed across the Indo-Pacific including southern Japan. Found on coral reefs, rocky shores and often hide in rock crevices.  Reaches 30 cm in length. They are very territorial. Their body color changes depending on the conditions; sometimes red, sometimes much paler.
