Distributed across the Indo-Pacific including south Japan. It is a large marine fish reaching over 1 meter in length and 50 kg. Inhabits waters with deep drop-offs near the coast. It is popular with lure fishermen around the world, and is commonly called GT, an acronym for giant trevally. At times, it goes after the small fish living in the same tank and eats them.
