Threadfin butterflyfish
Inhabits coral reef areas of the Indo-Pacific. In Japan, found from Chiba Prefecture southwards. Identified by the long filament from its dorsal fin. They are omnivorous. They feed on coral polyps, sea anemones and bottom dwelling animals. Reaches 20 cm in length. It is a species of butterflyfish (Chaetodontidae) and are commonly seen in Okinawa.
