A species of butterflyfish (Chaetodontidae) that is found at depths down to 20 meters. They look similar to the pennant coralfish but can be distinguished by the yellow tip to the snout and three distinctive diagonal black bands on the body. They usually swim alone or form a small group of two or three fish.
