Commemorating 50 Years with “Oki-chan” and “Muku” — Bridging Past and Future

On May 1, 2025, Okinawa Churaumi Aquarium will celebrate 50 years of caring for its beloved Indo-Pacific bottlenose dolphins, Oki-chan and Muku.
To mark this special milestone, we will host a variety of events under the theme "Connecting the Past and Future." Join us in celebrating the rich history of these two dolphins, who have been part of Okinawa's story for half a century.

50th Anniversary Ceremony for Oki-chan and Muku

We will present letters of appreciation to Oki-chan and Muku, followed by a special dolphin show to honor this occasion. For 50 years, these two dolphins have captivated countless visitors with their charm and performances. Let’s come together to celebrate this unforgettable moment.

50th Anniversary Panel Exhibition — "Connecting the Past and Future"

Relive five decades of memories through archival dolphin show footage, rare photos, and costumes from past trainers. This exhibit also highlights dolphin care and breeding practices over the years. Content will change throughout the exhibition period.

Limited-Time Revival! Diver Show

The popular diver show, last held in 2020, returns for a limited time. Watch the heartwarming interaction between Muku and the divers in this special revival.
