Okinawa Churaumi Aquarium is now exhibiting the baby broadclub cuttlefish born at the aquarium!

Broadclub cuttlefish
Scientific name： Sepia latimanus

In May 2024, broadclub cuttlefish hatched in the aquarium. These cuttlefish have now matured, and laid eggs several times between February and May 2025.
From June 2025, we began to exhibit the baby broadclub cuttlefish (their mantles were about 2 cm long).
Okinawa Churaumi Aquarium will continue to rear and breed these cuttlefish to shed light on their ecology and conservation.
