This facility introduces the history and culture of maritime peoples in the Pacific Ocean region including Okinawa.
The exhibition hall, with a theme of “People traveled the ocean for a new world – culture developed in concert with the ocean,” features a large screen projecting a splendid historical story of people’s move to the Pacific region and introduces the culture that developed in the South Pacific islands. It also exhibits large canoes and approximately 750 valuable items from Oceania and Okinawa. A guided tour is available to show you around the museum with an explanation of the items on exhibit.
You can enjoy the night sky filled with 140 million twinkling stars in the planetarium theater.
