Tropical & Subtropical Arboretum

The Tropical & Subtropical Arboretum is filled with various kinds of greenery and flowers and can easily be visited.

Along with areas and zones with different kinds of tropical and subtropical plants, the Tropical & Subtropical Arboretum has a Green Consultation Desk providing information on greenery and flowers. Various books on plants are available for visitors to peruse. Many activities such as making handcrafts with plants, a guided tour and more are available for you, your family and your friends to enjoy.

*Plant Service Center" in Tropical & Subtropical Arboretum has been temporally closed from February 22, 2016 for its maintenance.

`Banko` Forest

Banko is word in the dialect of Hatoma Island, part of the Yaeyama Islands, describing a place where people take a nap or exchange information under the shade of a tree or on a platform set up in the tree, enjoying a pleasant breeze in summer.

A wooden structure is located in the same area where you can make handcrafts using natural materials.
You can also play ground golf in the lawn area.
How about a picnic in the Banko Forest with your family and friends? This is also a perfect choice for a school outing or event.
