Okinawa Churaumi Aquarium is located in Ocean Expo Park, which is home to a number of facilities where you can encounter marine creatures including dolphins, sea turtles and manatees.
This attraction provides exciting shows with dynamic athletic performances by a false killer whale and a bottlenose dolphin. Enjoy the impressively powerful jumping of our dolphins. You can observe dolphins underwater through a glass panel during the Divers Show.
The Dolphin Lagoon offers a chance in which visitors can get up close to these animals.
This pool is home to a variety of turtles from among the eight extant species of sea turtles in the world including the hawksbill, loggerhead and green as well as turtles rarely seen in Japan such as the Olive ridely turtle and the black turtles. From pool level, you can see sea turtles in the water as well as in a sandy spawning area. From a large acrylic panel in the basement observation room, they can be watched as they glide through the water. In addition, a wide variety of research and surveys on the life and habits of sea turtles are introduced through panel displays.
The Manatee Pool displays the West Indian Manatee, after which it is said that fanciful mermaids were fashioned. The manatee is a herbivorous mammal and is currently in danger of extinction, designated as a threatened species. On the first floor of this facility, you can see manatees from above the water as well as enjoy observing manatees underwater from the observation room in the basement.
The Main Rest House is a resting place with relevant displays of Okinawa Churaumi Aquarium.
With its beautiful white coral sand and spectacular cobalt blue water, this uniquely shaped beach is located in the northern corner of the park.
This walkway offers the opportunity to stroll surrounded by the natural beauty of Okinawa.
An adventure paradise for every child to play in and enjoy! Kids Adventure Land at Ocean Expo Park is home to the largest type of net playground equipment in Japan.
