Various unusually shaped marine animals are found in the deep sea.

Collecting and taking care of benthic animals is very difficult since they require a special environment in terms of water temperature, water pressure and light. The deep-sea creatures at Okinawa Churaumi Aquarium are for the most part collected from deeper than the 200-meter depth of the waters around Okinawa and are quite valuable. Experience a quiet and totally different world from that of the colorful coral reef.
