  • We are generally open except on the abovementioned dates (open year-end and New Year’s holidays), but expect extra closures due to typhoon and other unforeseen circumstances.
  • Okinawa Churaumi Aquarium conducts maintenance on the closed dates in order to provide a safe, comfortable and clean welcome to all guests. We appreciate your understanding and cooperation.

An advance ticket for the aquarium can be purchased at convenience stores and Michi no Eki (Roadside Stations).

  1. Holders of certificates for physical, rehabilitation or mental disabilities are granted free entry. (Please show your certificate at the Okinawa Churaumi Aquarium ticket desk.). One caregiver can also enter free of charge. (One caregiver for disabled visitors with any certificate level is granted free entry.)

  2. If you have already reveived a coupon from your travel agency/tour operator, or have purchased tickets outside of the aquarium, when you visit the aquarium after 16:00 you can exchange it to After 4pm Tickets and receive refunds of the balance at the ticket center. (Some coupons may not be refundable, and refunds are not applicable to re-entry)
  3. Visitors may be asked to show an identification card such as a driver’s license or student ID when purchasing a ticket at the aquarium ticket desk.
  4. Use of credit cards and electronic payment

School discounts

Visits through school activities of elementary, junior high and high schools can receive group rates with an advance reservation.

Group rates

Groups of more than 20 can receive discounted group rates.


For visitors seeking re-entry to the aquarium, get a re-entry stamp on your hand from a staff member at the exit. Re-entry is only allowed on the same day of your visit.
* Be sure to bring the stub of an aquarium admission ticket with you.

Annual Passport

An annual passport can be purchased for the price of only two visits and is recommended for visitors seeking to enjoy the aquarium more than two times in one year.

Credit cards and foreign currency

Credit cards are accepted at ticket desks and at the Inoh restaurant as well as at all shops. For foreign currency, only U.S. dollars are accepted and can be used in all restaurants, cafés and shops and at ticket desks.
