Large-scale exhibition of various corals
The Coral Sea tank, open at the top, receives strong, direct sunlight.
Such extensive cultivation of coral is made possible by utilizing a system that continuously supplies fresh water from the sea right in front of the aquarium. It is quite a sight to see approximately 440 colonies of 80 different kinds of reef-building coral.
Our local staff actually dove into the water off Motobu Town, and the Coral Sea tank was designed based on the coral reef they saw. Many of the corals in the Coral Sea tank have been growing for almost 15 years, since the opening of the aquarium.
