Spend a Special Summer Night at the Aquarium – Churaumi Night Aquarium

From Saturday, August 1, 2026, to Monday, August 31, 2026, Okinawa Churaumi Aquarium will host the "Churaumi Night Aquarium," extending its operating hours throughout the event period.

Experience the aquarium in a completely different atmosphere from the daytime, and enjoy watching the marine life illuminated by gently shimmering lights as they reveal their nighttime behaviors.

Extended opening hours until 9:00 p.m. (Last admission: 8:00 p.m.)

※Please use Parking Lot P7.
※Admission to the Exploring the Kuroshio Sea tank (observation course above the water) is available only until 6:45 p.m. during the Churaumi Night Aquarium event period.
※During the Churaumi Night Aquarium event period, facilities other than the aquarium—including the Manatee Pavilion, Sea Turtle Pavilion, Dolphin Lagoon, and other park facilities—will be open from 8:30 a.m. to 7:00 p.m.
※The Churaumi Night Aquarium is conducted under lighting and environmental conditions designed with the health and well-being of the animals in mind.

Experience the Ocean at Night Through Aquarium Lighting!

The aquarium tanks will be illuminated with nighttime-inspired lighting from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m.As the sun sets, the ocean reveals a mysterious beauty unlike anything seen during the day. Come and experience the magic of the nighttime ocean at the aquarium.

Mats are available in front of the "Kuroshio Sea" large tank!

Enjoy a relaxing moment sitting and gazing at the aquarium tank. (Limited quantity available.)

Churaumi Music Night

Enjoy live performances featuring the violin and sanshin in front of the "Kuroshio Sea" main tank, where whale sharks and reef manta rays glide gracefully through the water.

Interact with Deep-Sea Creatures?! CGI Deep-Sea Creatures Appear!

CGI deep-sea creatures will be projected onto the walls and floor of the Journey into the Deep Sea area. Touch the creatures and watch how they react!

In celebration of World Whale Shark Day on August 30, Okinawa Churaumi Aquarium's shark expert will present a special talk about whale sharks. Learn about their biology, unique characteristics, and the fascinating facts that make these magnificent animals so special.
